Perhaps a case of availability influencing design -- I have a Dover disk of Art Nouveau letters that I've been thinking about using elsewhere. I separated and repaired the dragon, then intertwined it with the D using masks and drop shadows. The waves were recreated, multiplied and stacked to make the background. The sky is a gradient.
