While at a movie over the weekend, I saw a trailer that included a credit to Sparrow Productions -- I was inspired to create a gorilla logo using a similar technique. I started by filling an outline of the gorilla with white, duplicating the layer and then applying the motion blur. Some selective masking of the blurred layer gave the final result. The font for the film title is Hurry Up. The rest of the type is Minion Pro.
