Looking at the original image, I became fixated on the leg and began thinking of ways to use it in isolation and modify it -- patterned stockings came to mind and the mannequins in store windows that are used to display them. To simulate patterned hose, various fill patterns were used to create layers that were then distorted using the displace filter and the leg as a map. The display case was made in Elements: the font is Parisian; the Moulin Rouge graphic was made from a photo I took some time ago. The lamp is a Photo Object. The woman was made from a Photo Object under a filled-in silhouette with just enough erased to suggest the light glancing off one side. The wall, decorations and window frame were made in Elements.
