Commentary

The rooster on the weather vane touched off associations to France -- the rooster was used as a symbol of France during the Revolution (and perhaps earlier). I understand it had to do with a pun on the Latin words for rooster (gallus) and France (Gaul). At any rate, I turned the rooster into a line drawing, then put it in red onto a manufactured French tricolor and hung it in a modified Photo Object Arc de Triomphe. The French WW1 army helmet is a modified stock photo. The background was made with filled selections and the perspective transform tool.
