The horseshoe crab reminded me of the crab nebula. Here a stock photo of the nebula is inserted in the crab body and an inner bevel and drop shadow applied. The porthole is a One-Click-WOW layer style. A lens flare was added above the crab layer and rendered clouds provide the light variation 'outside' and the rust inside.
