As I was working on the Muir Woods image, the phrase 'cathedral of trees' was running through my mind. This image takes the 'chessmen as redwoods' theme to the next logical step of a chess cathedral. The windows are stock photos of sequoias framed with a custom shape and altered with the crystallize filter to approximate stained glass windows. The gold sphere and the altar were constructed in elements.
