I
warped the coho salmon statue using the shear filter into
a curve to give the leaping form, then divided the fish
into sections and used gradient fills to give it some
depth. The background is a stock photo of a Douglas Fir.
For the overall look, I tried to emulate the silk-screen
style of Elton Bennett. I bought a copy of his 'Steelhead
Weather' when I was an impecunious grad student in
Oregon and have had it with me to remind me of my days
as a mossback.
