This started as an attempt to re-create the arched window in the background of the original and sort of grew like Topsy. Everything was rebuilt from scratch. Once I had the interior window as well as the exterior of the building across the street with its arched window, the idea came to me that something could be happening between the buildings. I'm not exactly sure how the leaping salmon came to mind, although I remember considering a superhero of some sort swinging through.
