Having
manufactured some eucalyptus trees for the first image,
I got caught up in the texture of the bark and remembered
walking through the eucalyptus grove at the west end of
the Berkeley campus early in the morning as the fog cleared.
As before, the tree trunks are rectangular selections
filled first with a gradient made using colors selected
from stock photos of eucalyptus, then overlaid with jagged
triangular selections made with the polygonal lasso, again
filled with color. Once colored, I distorted each trunk
using the distort>wave filter. The sky is a stock dawn
gradient. The silhouetted leaves are a modified stock
photo reduced to black.
